Children's Health & Child Immunisations

Baby checks are done by GPs during routine surgery hours. Drop in baby clinics run by the health visiting team operate at various sites and times. Reception or your midwife can give you the updated times and locations.

All children and young people eligible for the children’s immunisation programme are invited by the practice according the current NHS Imms schedule.

Immunisations are by appointment with the Practice Nurses.

Teenage immunisations are usually performed at school by the School Nurse.

The following websites can help inform parents of children of all ages about their health and well-being, particularly managing minor illnesses.  We particularly like the healthier together site, which was developed by NHS trusts in the Wessex region but has lots of extremely useful advice and resources for parents everywhere.

The NHS website also offers plenty of useful information for parents and the “When should I worry?” leaflet offers more specific advice about children with respiratory infections (coughs and colds).
